LED401LV

Master Bond LED401LV is a very special, one part LED type system that will cure when exposed to a light source emitting 405 nm wavelength and where the presence of any UV light is minimal or incidental. When exposed to the light, LED401LV will cure completely tack-free in sections of 1/8 inch thick and beyond. The system can be used as an adhesive, sealant, coating and encapsulant. Since it is a LED based system, it is more user friendly than one requiring UV light for curing, as LED light emitting sources are considered to be safer than UV ones. Master Bond LED401LV requires no mixing and will cure rapidly, with the speed of cure dependent upon the intensity of the light source, the thickness of the layer and the distance of the light source from the material being cured. The light intensity should be 1-4 watts/cm2. Master Bond strongly advises end users to consult with their light source provider to ascertain the best LED for their particular application, along with details on the wavelength being emitted by the light source. In thinner sections, full cures can be achieved in 15-30 seconds (sometimes less than that), while thicker sections require longer cure times. Once cured, LED401LV has excellent physical properties, including outstanding dimensional stability, superb electrical insulation properties and superior chemical resistance to water, many acids, bases and oils. It also bonds well to a wide variety of substrates, such as glass, polycarbonates and acrylics. Since LED light sources do not generate as much heat as UV ones, LED401LV can be used with heat sensitive substrates. It has excellent optical clarity and light transmission properties, even with a very slight amber tint. This system is also available in an opaque white color. Prior to cure, it has a moderate viscosity consistency, but it remains flowable. Additionally, the formulation is solvent-free.
