The R-Head series of weld heads are simple to operate devices used in pipe welding. There are three standard models which cover pipe sizes of 12.7 mm to 168 mm OD (0.5″ to 6.625″). A mechanical arc length control device is used to compensate for out-of-round pipes.

The basic weld heads are able to be used in applications relating to fusion welding. Filler wire feed modules are standard in every model. The weld head is just placed over the pipe and clamped using a toggle lever. Constant and adjustable clamping is given by the second generation design meaning that it is not necessary to interchange the components when the pipe sizes are being changed.

Redheads clamp to just one side of the weld joint which means they can be used even for pipe-to-fitting welds. When used in conjunction with the Tubemaster power source, their use boosts the productivity by increasing the duty cycle, as well as reducing the need for repair even while ensuring reliable welds.
