Here we describe a new class of CPL<\/a> switches based on oxophilic interactions between chiral sulfoxide-containing\u00a0ortho<\/em>-phenylene ethynylene (o<\/em>-OPE) foldamers and cationic metals. These systems represent a unique case combining high\u00a0g<\/em>lum<\/sub><\/small>\u00a0values (up to 0.7 \u00d7 10\u22122<\/sup><\/small>) and high quantum yields in both folded ON and unfolded OFF CPL states.<\/p>\n
