A unique transmission system for levelling tension has been developed by Eisenbeiss. Advantageous over ordinary single or hybrid systems mainly owing to pure mechanical coupling of epicyclic overriding gear systems by means of master shaft.

Entire system is driven by Speedmaster (a single motor). Transmission of power to all the rolls take place by a master shaft. Varying shaft speeds for levelling sheet tension is obtained in regulated drives by individual coupling, having the advantage of surplus degree of freedom provided by epicyclic system.
