The exciting new sample compartment for use with light absorbing samples which are clear,
cloudy, murky, gelatinous, fibrous, or frozen. Scatter does not matter to the CLARiTY, because
a gas of photons is used to interrogate the sample and this measurement beam cannot be further
dispersed by the sample. This CLARiTY enhancement module is self-contained, including the
sample compartment box, two DeSa Suspension Presentation Cavities (DSPC) with thermal
regulation and stirring, and two fast-response 10 mm photomultiplier tubes employing custom
Olis circuitry. The DSPCs are 1mL, 4mL, or 8 mL round quartz sample holders to be specified
at time of purchase. Also included in this enhancement module are the powerful FPGA starter
kit, motor drivers, and other necessary electronics to augment the electronics in the host
spectrophotometer. Ports are provided on four sides of the sample holders to allow entrance and
exit of excitation and emission beams. Inlet ports through the top of the Chamber allow
introduction of reactants into the sample (and reference) suspensions manually or with the Olis
Automatic Titrator (not included). Temperature is controlled by a thermoelectric assembly
under manual control; magnetic stirring is built-in. Temperature range supported is from ambient
to +80°C. A single tool is required to quickly, correctly, and reversibly exchange the CLARiTY
chamber with the original OLISCary sample & detector chamber(s)。
