For existing owners of our original WL500 long range Wi-Fi system (USB connection), we provide a popular upgrade kit that allows you to swap the below deck, silver amplifier box of the WL500 with the new high power Wi-Fi router box of the WL510.
Installation is easy, simply unscrew the coax cable, disconnect the 12v power to the WL500, remove and swap the old silver box with the new silver box (same fixings), re-connect the 12v power and screw the coax cable back in.
With the new WL510, you will see superior range and performance, with the added benfit that you can plug the ethernet connection straight in to a PC or MAC (no drivers required) or connect the WL510 to a wireless access point or our iNavConnect router and you can share the long range connection with anyone or any device onboard, including iPads and iPhones.
NOTE - the old WL500 would work on 12v or 24v DC systems while the WL510 is 12v Only. If your boat has a 24v DC supply, you will need to fit a 24v to 12v regulator in order to safely use the WL510.
