BODY LEAKAGE TEST STAND including the following major components:

• NIST Calibrated Venturi Flow-Meter – Nominal flow range is 47.2 - 377.6 SLPS (100-800 SCFM) at
+/-2% uncertainty. 300 series stainless steel construction. Flow calibration by CEESI, +/-0.5% on discharge coefficient uncertainty.

• Inlet Plenum w/ Straightener – Suitably large such that no noticeable effects of inlet velocity, etc. reach the pressure and temperature sensors. 300 series stainless steel construction integral with Venturi flow-meter.

• System Controller – PC based data acquisition and control system. The specifications for the PC include: Pentium 4 - 450 Mhz CPU, 1.0 GB Ram, 250 GB hard drive, Windows 7® and 17” LDC Display. The data acquisition and control system is by Computer Measurements and DGH. The ADC resolution of the data acquisition system is 16 bit. The system software is written in NATIONAL INSTRUMENTS LabVIEW™. The software is provided in executable format.

• Flow Check Audit Plenum with Leak Plate and set of three (3) daily check Orifice Plates with Calibration. Includes software for pre-configured tests recommended for daily checks and annual flow audit during recalibration.

• Flow Control - Shall be accomplished by means of
a variable frequency drive (VFD) speed control on the
blower motor. This electronic unit has 0.04 Hz
resolution. Vehicle static pressure can be controlled
automatically or through direct speed control.

• Vacuum Pump - A GAST or equivalent oil-free unit with accessible tubing fitting is included. The unit shall
• be capable of at least drawing 20" Hg vacuum with a free flow rate of 1 CFM. Unit is used to provide service vacuum for operating vehicles controls.

• Transmitters - The vehicle pressure (Pv) will be sensed as a differential pressure between the local barometric pressure and the test vehicle's interior pressure in +/- "H2O. The venturi absolute inlet pressure (Ps) will be measured as well as the temperature. The temperature (Ts) will be sensed with a DGH/Thermistor. The estimated accuracy of the temperature measurement is estimated to be better than +/- 0.1%. These parameters will be used in the calculation of the referenced (0.075 lbm/ft3 density) or SCFM flow rate. The differential pressure between the plenum and the Venturi's throat tap will be measured to determine the volumetric flow rate. Another DP transmitter will be used to measure service vacuum from the onboard vacuum pump. Stated accuracy for each is:

Pv = Mensor 0-40”H2) 0.02% FS
Ps = Mensor 16 psia 0.02% FS
DP = Mensor 0-10” H2O 0.02% FS
Vacuum = # 0.5 % FS (Ashcroft Sensor)

The Vehicle Static set point can be adjusted from 0 to 2 “H2O, in either pressure or vacuum flow in automatic mode. The set point control gives the operator direct speed control in manual model.

• Blower - A CINCINNATI (or equal) direct drive unit will provide up to 3.5" H2O (less line losses) in pressure or vacuum mode at 800 ACFM at the vehicle. Maximum static is up to 9" H2O at 100 ACFM.

• Connections -20 feet of 8" diameter elastomer / wire reinforced ducting, 25 feet of nylon tube for vehicle pressure. NEMA 12 disconnect box for power connection by customer.

• Isolation Transformer - Includes transformer to convert 400vac, 50Hz, 3ph to 110Vac for all electronic components. Voltage to be confirmed with PO.

• Training – Includes one day of training at factory, FLOW SYSTEMS, INC., Berthoud, CO for up to
three people. Customer is responsible for all travel
and local subsistence expenses.

• NIST Traceable Calibration – The Vehicle and Venturi pressure transmitters and the Venturi temperature transmitter and probe will be calibrated against NIST-traceable standards.
Fog Machine – Le Maitre, Special Effects, Inc., Model CLF 4400 or equal. Supplied with 1 gallon (4 liters) of colorless, odorless, non-staining fog liquid.
