Open up the world of CPL in the NIR region! This small and affordable CPL Solo is optimized for studies in the 600-1600 nm region. The CPL Solo NIR collects fluorescence, polarization of fluorescence, and circularly polarized luminescence directly, perfectly, and without G-factor corrections using a patented electro-optical method and a proprietary photon counting InGaAs detection system.
SAMPLE COMPARTMENT is the OLIS Polarization Toolbox, which houses the polarizers(s), sample holder, and modulator. The default sample holder is an ambient 1 cm2 cuvette holder. A single or 4 position Peltier cuvette holder or a manual or computer-controlled variable angle thin film holder can be purchased separately.
The polarizer(s) - emission and optional excitation - are easily accessed for addition/removable between experiments. The modulator is a quarter-wave plate, which converts linearly polarized light into circularly polarized light and vice versa.
EXCITATION SOURCE is a highly stable LED operating with microsecond precision on-off cycles that determines the excitation wavelength. Changing excitation wavelength is achieved by exchanging one LED Tube for another. The LED itself and all electronics are contained within the LED Tube for fail-safe handling. Purchase additional LED Tubes separately to expand the excitation wavelengths supported. One LED Tube is included in the price; user to specify wavelength.
EMISSION SCANNING is achieved by the compact high-throughput single grating OLIS monochromator with a NIR blazed grating. A built-in filter holder allows optional addition of an optional filter to reduce stray light or remove high order light.
EMISSION DETECTION is done by a high performance InGaAs detector operating with proprietary OLIS electronics which converts its performance to photon counting. This detector's spectral range is slightly beyond 600-1600 nm in both directions. The data are routed to a 'left' and 'right' counters using FPGA firmware. Left and right counts are accumulated until a useful signal-to-noise ratio has been achieved. CPL data acquisition can last hours, so the absolute stability of the direct, digital OLIS method greatly enhances the likelihood of successful results.
SOFTWARE is the OLIS SpectralWorks data acquisition/analysis/instrument control program which employs the mathematics for calculating CPL directly from luminescence(L) and luminescence(R) raw signals. The result is perfect CPL without a lock-in amplifier, G-factors, or electronic calibration.
2D and 3D data acquisition and analysis are handled by the seamlessly integrated OLIS
GlobalWorks software. After spectra are acquired, they can be saved as binary, ASCII, Excel, or JPG. Analysis options include an exhaustive selection of 2D data manipulation choices (smoothing, derivatives, exponentials, subtraction, etc.) as well as kinetic fits.
Three-dimensional data can be analyzed with Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) to reduce RMS noise by 40-fold while also determining number of species in the reaction, followed optionally by spectral reconstruction of the starting, final, and any spectral intermediate forms
using Downhill Simplex and Matrix Exponentiation.
ELECTRONICS: All electronics to operate the excitation source, monochromator movement, and acquisition from the detector are housed in free-standing small boxes connected to the OLIS verified processor (3rd Gen. Intel Core i3-3240 3.4GHz, 4GB DDR3, 1TB HDD 7,200RPM, 6 Total USB 2.0 Ports. Windows 10 Pro 64-bit (English version)).
