These horizontal bench welding lathes are selected when axial pressure is required to position and tool the assembly for welding headstock with precision bearings.
Stainless steel spindle with 1.5-inch through-bore has spring-loaded, copper-rounding shoes to transfer the welding current. A 2 ¼ x 8 threaded spindle allows work-holding devices to be interchanged. Rotational speed is computer-controlled through the AWS system. The square steel tube backbone in innovative orientation provides stiffness and open work area. Adjustable speed-motorized saddle carries
pneumatically-actuated torch tower (advance/retract) with over-center adjustment. Torch tower also includes vertical manual slide and graduated protractor for torch angle adjustment. Tailstock with quick lock for rapid repositioning.
Pneumatically-actuated live center shaft with 3-inch stroke for part clamping with speed and pressure adjustments. Supports up to a 15-inch diameter part. Distance between headstock and tailstock is 15-inches, measured from the face of the chuck back-plate to the tip of the live center in the retracted position. Pivot option required for operation in vertical position. Includes 3-jaw chuck, pneumatic hose and coupling, power cord, interconnect cables, and ground cable.
